SAN FRANCISCO – March 6, 2017 SwiftStack, a company that powers hybrid cloud storage for enterprises, today announced that it has joined the Google Cloud Technology Partner Program. With this new relationship, enterprises can better use SwiftStack software to manage data placement across on-premises infrastructure and Google Cloud Platform storage services to take advantage of cloud bursting, as well as offsite archiving and collaboration with others in the cloud. SwiftStack announced product support for Google Cloud Platform on November 28, 2016.

“SwiftStack has the potential to become disruptive in the emerging hybrid market by offering a unique combination of on-premises capabilities with policy automation supporting public cloud storage,” said Henry Baltazar, research director for storage with 451 Research. “By extending support for Google Cloud Platform, enterprises have new choice and control for placing data where it can best be utilized, as more workloads are developed for or refactored for the public cloud.”

SwiftStack’s integration with Google Cloud Platform enables organizations to define policies that place data both on-premises and in Google Cloud Platform, wherever it can be best utilized by enterprise applications. Google Cloud users now have the option to use the differentiated services provided by Google Cloud Platform to compute against specific data and have the results of those workloads synchronize back to private data centers. In addition to cloud bursting, enterprises can more easily collaborate with their partners by automatically placing data in shared buckets, as well as leverage storage optimized for offsite archiving including Google Nearline and Coldline.

“With SwiftStack in a hybrid cloud solution, enterprises can easily leverage public cloud resources to elastically respond to business demands,” said Anders Tjernlund, COO, SwiftStack. “Collaborating with Google supports our vision for the data center, where we see enterprises taking advantage of both Google Cloud Storage and other cloud providers for agility, scale and innovation while IT uses policies to centrally manage corporate data.”

About SwiftStack

SwiftStack innovations power hybrid cloud storage for enterprises. Enabling freedom to move workloads between private data centers and public clouds like Amazon or Google, SwiftStack software delivers universal access to petabytes of unstructured data in a single namespace. Corporate data remains under the management control of internal IT, served by infrastructure that starts small and seamlessly scales huge within and across geographic regions. The result, pay-as-you-grow consumption of IT-managed resources on-premises and in the cloud. Connect with us on Twitter and LinkedIn, or please visit
